Part of my skill as a coach is tailoring workshops and retreats to the needs of those present.
Which you canāt do if you have a strict itinerary.
So while I have a plan for the retreats, it might change BUT only ever in a good way.
With a maximum of four guests (CHECK OUT THAT COACH:GUEST RATIO), youāll get all the coaching you need to switch-off, relax AND learn to carry that feeling with you.
Friday 27th September
5-7pm Guest arrivals and introductions
Think of it like arriving to a weekend away with friends. Except you havenāt met the friends before.
Youāll be introduced to anyone thatās already here, and then have time to settle in.
If it suits you, weāll chat about why you wanted to come, what you wanted to get out of the weekend and how you can start being mindful STRAIGHT AWAY.
This is an immersive retreat - you learn how to be mindful by doing it. So as weāre talking, both now and over the weekend, Iāll help you keep your mind on track.
7-8pm Dinner
I get proper hangry without food, so there will be plenty.
8-9pm Introduction to mindfulness and making the most of the weekend
What is mindfulness?
Whatās mindful living?
How does it help me decide what to have for dinner in less than 5 minutes and stop worrying about the client I saw last Thursday?!
And how am I supposed to start practising it this weekend?!
Some of these questions may have already come up, but itās a big topic!
I talk to my one-to-one clients almost every day for 3 months. Weāre not going to run out of things to talk about it.
9pm onwards - up to you
Think weekend away with friends.
Go to bed. Sit and chat. Play some board games. Whatever you like.
Thereās even a hot tub š¤©
Saturday 28th September
7-10.30am Breakfast in your own time
Feel free to get up early and have some time to yourself with a book, or lie-in until 9.45am. Up to you.
10.30-12am Workshop: How to switch off when youāre always busy, WITHOUT forgetting anything important
Here weāll talk about mindfulness āin real lifeā.
What do you do if youāre watching TV and you suddenly remember itās Auntie Judeās birthday next week and you still havenāt sent a card?
Or if every time you try and enjoy dinner with your partner, you just end up talking about how stressful work was?
And how are you supposed to relax as soon as the work day is over? How do you turn those thoughts off?!
Weāll cover 5 key principles to switch off and relax (which also make you more productive at work - itās a win-win).
Iāll encourage you to start practising these principles RIGHT NOW. So Iām here with you as you find your sea legs.
12-1pm lunch
1-4pm Mindful Activity
During these times, Iāll be keeping an extra close eye on when youāre NOT being mindful, and gently nudging you back to mindful presence.
Think of it like having a PT that notices when youāre slouching š But in a kind, non-judgemental, āTHANK YOU FOR NOTICINGā kind of way.
The exact activity is group and weather dependent.
We can go for a walk in the lovely Cotswolds, explore the local towns, or stay in the cottage for crafting or board games.
With a small group size (maximum 4 guests with 2 hosts) we can easily accommodate different preferences.
4-5pm Workshop; meditation masterclass
Just because you dislike football, doesnāt mean you dislike all sports. Especially if youāve been inadvertently playing with a rugby ball š¤¦āāļø
Meditation is the same.
Weāll have already tried meditations in previous workshops, but hereās some dedicated time to try out different styles, and troubleshoot misconceptions like āIām bad at it because I canāt clear my mindā.
5-7pm Get ready / time to yourself
7pm out for dinner [not included in price]
Sunday 29th September
7-10.30am Breakfast in your own time
10.30 - 12am Workshop: Enjoying life even when itās stressful
When I went on my first mindfulness retreat, I thought āthis is all great, but what about when thereās more on my to-do list than hours in the day?ā
And āhow does being in the present moment help when a client is shouting at me and life is genuinely sh$t?ā
Now I know how to enjoy life, EVEN when things are stressful.
Spoiler alert: part of if it accepting it wonāt always be great. But weāll talk about that.
12-1pm lunch
1-2.30pm TBC by group; Mindful Activity OR Workshop
Mindful activity as per Saturday.
OR
Workshop on a specific topics eg
Releasing perfectionism without dropping standards
Dealing with anger and frustration at things you canāt change
Emotional Freedom Technique as a form of meditation
Old Me scheduled every minute of my time. Mindful Me knows that sometimes you need to go with the flow. So rather than me making assumptions in advance, letās see what the group needs and plan accordingly.
2.30-3pm Break and snacks
3-4.30pm Workshop: Taking the feeling home; the MINDFUL TM plan
I donāt want you going to work on Monday morning and feeling like youāve never been away.
So while I hope the weekend is rejuvenating, thatās not enough.
Iāll teach you how you to wake up feeling happy this is your life, every day, even on hump day (ok maybe not hump dayā¦ it takes practice!).
Weāll bring everything together everything from the weekend into a personalised plan for each of you, that takes you just 10 minutes a day. Or less, if you donāt even have that.
This is the exact framework I teach my one-to-one MINDSET clients, and one I use myself when Iām feeling overwhelmed and close to biting my childrenās head off (if I havenāt already).
4.30-5pm Goodbyes
Eesh over already!
More hugs (or not!) and SO many well wishes as you go forwards with a new way of approaching life.
