That’s incredible! What a powerful reminder to pause after stressful news instead of react, fueled by fight or flight. It’s like, when you think you have no time; that’s exactly when you have to take the time. Love how answers and guidance emerge in that space too. When I worked a super toxic office job, I had a little meditation corner in my office. I didn’t meditate in those days but think even looking at that corner helped me take a breath and stay calm. Whatever it takes, right? :)

Totally that the less time you think you have to meditate, the more you need it! It's something that still catches me out now, so hard to make yourself do it when you're feeling like that 🙏

I love the idea of mediation during lunch break to clear the mind and recenter. I might steal this idea, even if there isn't any major event to cause stress. I can see it helping to bring us back to present.

Glad you like the idea! I'm not always great at following my own advice, but in an ideal world, meditating every lunchtime to re-centre is a great idea 🙏

Your experience with work stress really resonated with me. It's so easy to get caught up in the chaos and feel like everything is a crisis. I love how mindfulness helped you gain perspective and prioritize. Mindful walks outside, even in the blazing hot sun or freezing snow, are truly life saving (and probably career saving too).

YES to mindful walks. I normally try and keep on top of stress at work by taking a walk around the block several times a day - it takes literally 5 minutes and is such a good way to stay grounded. Glad this resonated and thanks so much for sharing x

YES. I'm so glad you are a mindful walker too :) It truly is game changing to simply move.

Ooo I considered that but have gone with MOMENTUM - love the idea of gradually building a practise over time 🥰

My Old Me and New Me frequently chat, Lucy, and the Old Me can be a beouch. Stubborn. Insistent.

When I'm mindful, I let her vent a while. Then, tell her it's okay, thank her for speaking up, and she settles down.

I LOVE your Mindful Monthly concept; I shall borrow it and joyfully share.

Consider yourself hugged,

Donna

Thanks for sharing Donna, it's always good to hear how other people handle things. I definitely agree that letting Old Me vent is helpful when I'm super stressed; can be hard to do that in a way that's mindful and constructive and doesn't turn into a negative spiral, but one of those things I've definitely got better at over time 🙏

You're welcome, Lucy. When you mentioned "negative spiral" I saw a cyclone sucking energy. Then, the movie Twister came to mind followed by a cat 5 hurricane. Snapped my fingers and the clouds parted. Poof. Geez. It's 5am. I'm going back to 😴

this made me chuckle - I love visualising emotions like this, sometimes (not often!) it can then make it super simple - click your fingers and the emotions part..... ahhhh, if only!

😜 giving you a chuckle warms my heart! I was catching up after letting the pups out and time flew by.

I promise there is a way to use physical interrupts to shift our emotions, and I had no idea I coined a phrase Emotional Agility. I'm putting that on my content creation list 🎯

There’s always new things for a content list, my challenge is choosing which bits to do! 😜
