"That instantly makes me go “hell no, I LOVE this, let’s make this enjoyable again”. Love this!!! I find it so freeing to be able to look at things and be like hmm this isn't working for me how can I change how I approach it? Rather than feeling you have to get rid of it all or just feel stuck.
Yes exactly, we have so much control of how we feel than we think! And previously I'd have been aware that "my thoughts control my feelings" and so I'd have pushed through and tried to make myself enjoy it by "being mindful", which, let's be honest, didn't really work and just added to the stress. It's so paradoxical, you have to believe it can be better, but not expect it to be, or put pressure on that happening 😂 so I've realised removing something from the "to-do list" is a way to remove that pressure and make it enjoyable again, without forcing it either 🙏
How do you find that balance, of believing things can be better, without expecting them to be?
Omg I'm literally saving this so I can put those list sections on a sticky note on my computer!!! These are gold and so helpful.
One of my favorite things about your writing is you know the questions my brain automatically starts to ask and you give an answer/solution. And it's simple as fuck. My god that's just do wonderful!
Ah Taylor this has made my WEEK! What you experience in my writing is what I'm aiming for - to help you navigate what's in your head and make it simple, and I'm so pleased it feels that way 🥰
This article is a great reminder that mindfulness isn't just about meditation or yoga – it's a way of approaching life. Your tips for removing pressure, focusing on the essentials, and asking for help are all things we can apply to any area of our lives. I love how you're making mindfulness feel accessible and practical for everyone, even us busy, stressed-out folks. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
Thanks Alex, making mindfulness accessible and part of day-to-day life is literally what I'm aiming to do here, so I'm glad it's coming across that way 😊
