Ooph, my own imposter syndrome has been hitting hard this week.
Yesterday, I really wanted to email you all.
I was super aware I hadn’t written a “proper” advert for Untangling Imposter Syndrome yet, and the little voice in my head got loud:
"Other people run programs so much more professionally, you’re messing it up."
"You should be better at this by now."
"How can you help people overcome imposter syndrome if you can’t keep on top things like this?!"
I found myself fighting an internal battle
Do I write the advert on the weekend when I should have been enjoying my free time?
OR accept it would have to wait another day?
I knew I didn’t want to do it on the weekend, but every time I paused to make a cuppa or just chill, the voice piped back up, telling me I could “squeeze it in”.
I was using all the strategies I teach in Untangling:
🌟 Taking Off The Glasses
🌟 Guiding Principles
🌟 No, Not Now
🌟 CARE
And it was working.
But... it still felt HARD.
And then just as I thought "I can't be bothered to feel distracted like this all day. Maybe it’s easier to just do the work."
…I remembered EFT.
EFT: My secret weapon
I sat down and tapped* for 10 minutes.
That’s it.
And I went from:
"I have to get this done!"
to
"I’ve done enough. I can leave it."
I stopped thinking about it.
The spiral ended.
I got to actually enjoy my weekend reading a book in the sun, no sneaky guilt cloud hanging over me.
Why EFT feels like magic (but isn’t)
Here’s the thing:
The strategies I teach in Untangling Imposter Syndrome work.
But sometimes they feel like hard work, too.
You have to keep choosing the new path over and over.
It’s exhausting when you're tired, stressed, or busy.
EFT is like laying a new path in your brain.
So taking that better path starts to feel natural, not forced.
It makes everything else easier — almost like flipping a hidden switch.

*Not familiar with EFT? It stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and it’s also known as tapping, because you tap on acupuncture points while talking. It might sound a bit out there, but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!
