You know you don’t need to do it all.
You’ve told yourself: “The mince pies from Tesco are just as good as homemade.”
You’ve reminded yourself: “No one cares if the table settings aren’t picture-perfect.”
But there’s a feeling—persistent, gnawing—that won’t let you drop the effort.
That feeling says:
“You should bake the pies.”
“It won’t take that much longer to make the presents look pretty.”
“You can do this—it’s not that much effort.”
Logically, you know it’s fine to let go. Emotionally, you’re stuck in a loop.
Why does it feel so hard?
Often, that drive for perfection isn’t really about the pies or the decorations. It’s about a deeper belief—one that says: “If I don’t do this, I’m not thoughtful, kind, or loving enough.”
For years, I didn’t even realise that belief was running my life at Christmas (or most of the time tbh 😅).
I just felt the stress of trying to do everything, wondering why I couldn’t seem to stop.
Mindfulness helped me start letting go. I learned to notice the thoughts, question whether they were true, and bring myself back to the present moment.
But mindfulness takes effort. And sometimes you don’t have that effort in you.
Here’s where EFT makes a difference
If mindfulness is noticing a runaway train and laying tracks for a new route, EFT works like laying tracks before the train even gets going.
So rather than trying to deal with something in the moment, it gives you dedicated time to explore your thoughts and feelings, untangle them, and get to the root of what’s driving them.
You address those underlying beliefs—like “I’m not enough if I don’t do it all”—so they stop triggering you in the moment.
With EFT, the process of letting go becomes almost automatic.
Mindfulness helps you navigate the moment when perfectionism shows up.
EFT reduces how often perfectionism shows up in the first place.
Imagine your Christmas with less stress
What if you could:
Leave the pies to Tesco without feeling guilty?
Say “good enough” to the table settings and mean it?
Have more time to enjoy the moments that matter—like laughing with your loved ones or savouring a quiet evening by the fire?
This is exactly what EFT can help you do.
