Listen now 🎧: Episode 9 Untangling Imposter Syndrome

Hello lovely people!

We’re on the last episode of Untangling Imposter Syndrome - that went fast!

If you’ve joined MOMENTUM in the last week - WELCOME! While you’re very welcome to listen to today’s episode, it will make more sense in the context of the rest of the series - you can view all past episodes here.

Today we’re pulling everything together from the last 8 weeks, and talking about how to hold on to the benefits you’ve seen.

As always, once you’ve listened have a think about the following questions and come back here and share

  1. Your biggest lesson

Something I’ve really realised with this programme, is the benefit of focusing on just one area of mindfulness for a period of time. I often get so excited, and because I know it will change so many areas of my life, I want to see benefits everywhere! But it’s been really lovely to make imposter syndrome my main focus these last 2 months and I’ve seen a bigger improvement as a result of that dedicated focus, especially due to taking time to reflect here.

  2. One thing you’ll do differently

I’m going to keep answering these questions myself in future series!

  3. A question

ONE FOR ALL OF YOU: Do you like seeing my reflections or do I keep them private moving forwards?

  4. Anything you’ve noticed about imposter syndrome since last week
Had a meeting with my senior management team about my role at university and the challenges (and benefits!) of doing it part-term. I was told that I could consider moving to another role if I wanted to. Previously I would have assumed this was management wanting me to move, saying that I wasn’t good enough etc but I consciously removed my glasses before the meeting and so heard my boss say “I’m not saying you need to do this at all, or that I want you to, I just want you to know all the options”. So I answered there and then that I was happy in the role (no self-doubt about my ability!) and then forgot about it until another colleague asked how I was feeling.

  5. The biggest thing you’ve noticed with your imposter syndrome since starting Untangling Imposter Syndrome.
I AM BLOWN AWAY by the changes in my questionnaire. I’ve dropped on average 2.5 points across each statement. I’d rather arrogantly thought that because I wasn’t learning any new techniques, it would have a small but not massive difference and yet it’s proved how impactful it is just focusing on an area of our lives for 2 months
    🥳

Closing questionnaire here

I’m so excited to see how you’re feeling at the end of 8 weeks focusing on this and looking forward to starting the next adventure on Becoming Decisive next week.

Lucy x
